Went to Superstore today (something I avoid like the plague) and discovered that they've replaced the 50% off for soon to be expired food with a new 'reduced price' system. The price is *almost* 50% off but plus 10 or 20 cents.
Now this may not seem like a big deal but consider a clear decision was made to make a whole new system with new labels just so they could fleece a few more cents out of customers for food that was already going to be wasted anyway.

It’s just Lowlaws, but most grocery stores now have something like this. Personally, I’m okay with that. I get food for cheaper, but I have to hurry to eat/cook it.
EDIT: I even have a small store nearby that buys a lot expired foods from the big stores, freeze them and resell them. So it’s very common to see expired dates when I shop there.
