hah… I tried listening to these before, got annoyed by the artist inclusions feeling ‘forced’ and ‘off’ genre-wise. Figured I’d give it another chance.

Electronic, advertised in its desc as “Caribou, Chromeo, Crystal Castles, Deadmau5 and more”. First track, Drake. Tab -> Closed.

I love CBC music but I hate that they call 90’s and early 2000’s classic rock or whatever they call it. Makes me feel old!

As much as I hate being reminded of hoow long ago those times were, the problem with this for me is when I’m searching for stuff like The Eagles or Fleetwood Mac, so I start something like this and get like Nirvana or NIN. Like yeah sure, classic now, but not the mood I wanted when starting that. Is there a different category? No, same one. We need a different word for these two different ages. Oldies was helpful when I wanted 50s stuff growing up, why are we lumping it all into one?

As you can tell this has been bugging me a lot lately. Kind of funny since I was a child in the 90s, so I should be used to these mixing due to the radio.

Same I grew up in the sound of a dial up modem haunts me at night, but the 90’s music is different than what I think of as classic.

🤣 You wouldn’t have hurt this girls feelings, with my age and wisdom I am comfortably numb to that stuff!
