I know trump supporters that have lost faith in him. They still support him, but can’t defend his racist, repressive policies. I know there’s still a huge group that don’t care, but I don’t know, I don’t think America is that stupid. I don’t think all republicans are that blind.
When trump started appearing for the first time, everyone warned USAians of him. The rest of the world saw what he was. Almost half of the US voters also saw it. Despite it, he got elected because there is a big percentage of the US population that are fucking stupid, in fact it is the majority of the ones who actually vote.
Even after voting him and seeing for themselves what 4 years of trump does, they elected him AGAIN.
It doesn’t matter what he does, his net approval rating is huge. Most of the western world leaders have net NEGATIVE approval rating. Trump sometimes even has positive net approval rating (I checked and at the moment it is negative, but still near the top). Let’s not forget that we are comparing an absolute incompetent maniac with “normal” politicians.
You can see headlines about how X thing he said has made a lot of people really angry, but the polls barely move. A very high percentage of USAians Don’t care at all, they’ll vote for him regardless. We all know what he said about shooting someone on 5th avenue, and it is completely true. His supporters keep supporting him even if they also heard the 5th avenue quote. They don’t care.
